U Cluj prepares transfer of a national team footballer
The Transylvanian club is targeting goalkeeper Horațiu Moldovan, 28, on loan from Atletico Madrid to Eyupspor, taking advantage of the fact that he is entering the last six months of his contract with the Madrid side.

Universitatea Cluj is preparing reinforcements for the winter transfer period, after already reaching an agreement with Nicolae Stanciu, one of Romania's national team's best footballers. According to Cluj24, the Cluj side also wants goalkeeper Horațiu Moldovan.
Moldovan, 28, is currently on loan from Atletico Madrid to Turkish team Eyupspor. His contract with the Spanish side expires in the summer of 2027, and U Cluj wants to negotiate his return to the Superliga even this winter, before Moldovan enters the last six months of his contract.
Raised at CFR Cluj, the goalkeeper has also played for Hermannstadt, Ripensia, Sepsi, UTA and Rapid, before joining Atletico Madrid at the beginning of 2024, without making any appearances in Diego Simeone's team. This season, at Eyupspor, he has accumulated seven matches, totaling 585 minutes, and conceded 17 goals. Transfermarkt values him at 1.5 million euros.
For a Cluj resident who has left the country and follows the city's team, the return of a national team goalkeeper would mean a notable reinforcement for the Superliga fight this winter.
