Work on the Cluj-Oradea railway has reached 39% on the Poieni-Aleșd section
Section 3 of Magistral 300, the nearly 53 kilometers between Poieni and Aleșd, reached 39% physical progress in August 2026, but work is missing between Bulz and Vadu Crișului.

The FCC-Gülermak association reached 39% physical progress on section 3 of Magistral 300 Cluj-Oradea, according to the most recent CFR report on the status of railway projects, released in August 2026. The Pro Infrastructure Association published footage from the nearly 53 kilometers between Poieni and Aleșd.
API notes that work is still missing between Bulz and Vadu Crișului and estimates that the interrupted railway link between Cluj-Napoca and Oradea could be restored only by 2028. The association argues that authorities lost about 200 million euros in PNRR funds due to approximately two years of delay in construction authorization, caused by the fact that Romanian Waters did not commit to the flood level on the Crișul Repede.
The contract for this 52.74-kilometer sector, valued at 2.11 billion lei without VAT, was the first signed among the four sections of the Cluj-Oradea magistral, in November 2022, and provides for 6 months of design and 36 months of execution. The order to begin work was given in January 2023.
