Greek companies have invested over 5.5 billion euros in energy in Romania
The Ambassador of Greece to Bucharest clarified that PPC is the main investor, with over 4 billion euros already invested and another 3 billion planned until 2030.

Investments by Greek companies in Romania's energy sector have exceeded 5.5 billion euros since the end of 2023, declared the Ambassador of Greece to Romania, Lili-Evangelia Grammatika, at the launch of the third edition of the Code of Good Practices for Renewable Energy in Romania.
The Ambassador mentioned PPC company as the main investor, with over 4 billion euros already invested, including in renewable energy, and another 3 billion euros planned until 2030. PPC Renewables is, according to her, the largest renewable energy producer in Romania.
Other Greek companies - Metlen, Helleniq Energy, Sunel and others - have invested together over one billion euros in renewable energy projects, including photovoltaic and wind farms, contributing to the diversification of Romania's energy mix.
Grammatika also emphasized the need to develop battery storage capacity, both in Romania and in Greece, where renewable energy already represents 52.6% of the energy mix. She advocated for greater solidarity between EU member states and for reducing price differences in the electricity market.
