Cardiologist Dumitru Zdrenghea launched his poetry volume "Twilight" Monday evening at the Casino Urban Culture Center in Cluj-Napoca. The book is an anthology composed of selections from the 12 volumes of poetry published by the author over a decade.

Writers such as Horia Bădescu, Vasile Igna, Ion Mureșan, Viorel Mureșan and Aurel Pantea participated in the event, speaking about the author's lyric universe. Dozens of people were present in the Casino hall in Central Park.

Zdrenghea wrote his first verses as a student, then gave up writing to dedicate himself to medicine and returned to poetry only at age 66. The author shared that poetry helped him overcome difficult moments in life and told young literature enthusiasts to write what they feel, because "it's worth it."

Born in Cluj in 1946, Zdrenghea graduated from Medicine at Cluj-Napoca in 1970, became senior physician cardiologist in 1990 and performed the first echocardiographies in the city. Since 2013 he has published 12 volumes of poetry and is a member of the Writers' Union of Romania.
