Cluj County Council has approved financial indicators for two projects worth a total of 3,715,349.15 lei, VAT included, designed to increase the degree of energy independence of the Clinical Hospital for Infectious Diseases and the Clinical Hospital for Pneumopthisiology "Leon Daniello". The projects are to be submitted for non-refundable financing through the Modernization Fund, managed by the Ministry of Energy.

At "Leon Daniello" Hospital, the investment provides for the installation of 403 photovoltaic modules, with a total capacity of 229.58 kWp, the installation of two photovoltaic power plants and a 160 kVA transformer station at the TB sanatorium in Săvădisla, along with its own energy storage system.

The Clinical Hospital for Infectious Diseases, which already has a 168.35 kW photovoltaic plant, will receive a BESS-type storage system with lithium-iron-phosphate batteries, nominal capacity of 840 kWh and usable energy of 672 kWh, plus a bidirectional energy conversion system of 210 kW. The goal is for energy produced in surplus to be used later for own consumption, reducing the amount of energy purchased from the grid.

President of Cluj County Council, Alin Tișe, stated that the two projects will reduce costs and increase the energy independence of the hospitals.
