The local administration in Cluj-Napoca continues investments in electric transport, according to deputy mayor Dan Tarcea, who made a balance sheet of the current bus fleet.

The city currently has 81 electric buses, 40 of which are articulated models, 18 meters long. Along with trams and trolleybuses, these form a public transport fleet in which electric vehicles represent approximately 70% of the total.

For charging batteries between trips, the city has six charging stations located in four locations, so that buses can continue their daily schedule without long interruptions.

Dan Tarcea stated that electric transport remains a priority and that the direction will be continued both by expanding the fleet and by developing charging infrastructure. The deputy mayor emphasized that the main benefit is reducing emissions and noise from traffic: "Cleaner air and reduced noise are a gain for all of us, regardless of how we travel".

For a Cluj resident settled in another country, the news shows a visible change in the city, with public transport that is increasingly less polluting and quieter than what they remembered.
