The Cluj Community Foundation coordinated three free STEAM Summer Schools this summer, aimed at children from Cluj and Maramureș counties, in partnership with the Believe in Youth Association, the School of Experiments Association and the Turda Scientific Club Association.

The programs took place for five days each in the localities of Merișor, Iara, Turda and Mihai Viteazu, and students explored through games and experiments notions of science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics. Activities included physics and chemistry experiments, spaghetti constructions, building robots, painting on glass and exploring plant colors.

For the first time, this year's edition also included a day dedicated to mental health, in which children were encouraged to identify their emotions and communicate. Ancuța Dîrle, president of the Believe in Youth Association, said that many participants spoke for the first time in front of the group about their fears.

Of the 163 participants, 101 were primary school students, 50 middle school students and 12 high school students. The program is part of a national initiative run by the Federation of Community Foundations of Romania, with the support of Pepco Romania, which in 2026 reached its third edition, in 39 communities across the country, for over 2,000 children.
