The Prof. Dr. Ion Chiricuță Oncology Institute in Cluj-Napoca and the Cancer Free Future Association will organize on Friday, October 16, in Union Square, an event called One Ribbon. Many Stories., in which hundreds of patients, survivors, family members, medical staff and volunteers will form a human ribbon against cancer, photographed and filmed from the air.

The formation will be divided into two zones. The center of the ribbon will be occupied by people living with cancer, survivors and their family members, dressed in pink t-shirts provided free of charge. Every fourth participant in this zone will hold a balloon. The outline of the ribbon will be formed by medical staff dressed in white coats, supported by volunteers, which will make the formation easily recognizable in the aerial images.

The human ribbon will be maintained for 12 minutes, and the entire event is estimated to last approximately five hours. Participants are expected to arrive at 12:00, with the event beginning at 12:30.

Participation is free and is not limited to patients. Survivors, family members, medical staff, volunteers and community members who wish to convey a public message of solidarity are invited to participate. Minors may participate only with written consent from their legal representative.

Organizers will distribute free guides on sports recovery for breast cancer patients and will organize a raffle with prizes. Through this action, the initiators aim to bring the experiences of those affected by cancer to the center of the city and promote the importance of people-centered care. Organizers want One Ribbon to become an annual landmark for breast cancer awareness and a model for other cities in Romania.
