Approximately 2,000 believers were present on Sunday, September 20, for the consecration of the Church of "Saints Apostles Peter and Paul" in the Mănăștur neighborhood of Cluj-Napoca. The consecration service and Holy Liturgy were officiated by a synod of nine bishops, led by His Grace Father Andrei, Archbishop of Vad, Feleac and Cluj and Metropolitan of Cluj, Maramureș and Sălaj.

Construction of the place of worship lasted more than three decades. The cornerstone was laid on May 6, 1990, with the involvement of priest Vasile Raus, and construction proper took place between 1990 and 2018. The church was consecrated on January 20, 2019, and work continued after that date.

The building is one of the largest Orthodox constructions in Cluj-Napoca, with impressive dimensions: 50 meters long, 38 meters wide and 62 meters high. The architectural project belongs to Radu Spânu and incorporates elements from the Metropolitan Cathedral in Cluj-Napoca and details inspired by the "Saint Peter" Cathedral in Rome.

Financing came from donations by believers and public funds. In 2012, the Cluj-Napoca Local Council approved 1 million lei for construction. In 2014, work had reached approximately 5 million lei, and in the following period there were further allocations from the local budget.

One of the significant final stages was the painting of the interior. Between September 2020 and December 2023, the church was painted using the fresco technique, with over 7,000 square meters of painting executed by a team coordinated by painter Stanislav Grecu. The church also received four new bells, consecrated in April 2022, with the largest weighing 476 kilograms.
