Prof. Dr. Dafin F. Mureșanu, president of the European Federation of NeuroRehabilitation Societies and of the RoNeuro Institute in Cluj-Napoca, stated that art, especially theater, represents an essential healing endeavor for human health.

Mureșanu emphasized that being healthy does not only mean the absence of disease, but being a complete person, with profound experiences and a balanced emotional universe. According to the neurologist, joy and art are vital components of a healthy life, along with sleep, movement, and proper nutrition. The most important dimension for a healthy being is human interaction and a good emotional state.

Art functions as a healing force: reading a book quiets and activates higher forms of perception, while watching a dramatic performance amplifies these effects through the involvement of multiple senses. Any artistic element constitutes a miraculous endeavor, and theater legitimizes it best. Without artistic manifestations and especially without theater, there is no normal course of human development.

These ideas are central to this year's edition of the International Theater Festival Transylvania, which takes place in Cluj-Napoca from September 17-20, 2026. The festival brings together artists from seven countries and audiences in celebration of theater, comedy, music, dance, poetry, and visual arts. The RoNeuro Institute, co-organizer alongside Elena Ivanca Studio, brings a special dimension through the meeting of neuroscience with art, medicine with culture. Each day, medicine deciphers the mechanisms of the brain, and art sets them in motion.
