Mayor Emil Boc visited Thursday the construction site of the social housing block on Sobarilor Street, where a project is being executed for Cluj residents in need. The construction will result in 35 apartments with 1, 2 and 3 rooms, with a maximum area of 100 square meters, plus parking spaces and civil defense shelter.

The project received building authorization in November 2025 and has an implementation period of two years. According to the mayor's statements, work is proceeding according to plan and housing will be distributed to eligible persons after completion.

The local administration states that this investment is part of a broader strategy to support vulnerable people. Along with building new housing, the municipality continues to offer complementary programs, including assistance of up to 300 euros per month for rent payment and purchases of housing on the free market.

To date, over 580 vulnerable people from the Pata Rât area have benefited from housing through local administration projects, financed from the public budget and European funds.
