The project "Anatomy of a Sound. The Tarogato – Eastern Heritage, Romanian Identity" reached Prundu Bârgăului on Saturday, September 26, 2026. The "Dumitru Fărcaș" Foundation proposed a day built around an instrument emblematic of Romanian traditional music.

The first part of the day was dedicated to direct knowledge transfer between generations. From 10:00 a tarogato masterclass was held by tarogato player Ionel Sabo. Participation in the masterclass was free. The masterclass was part of the "Fărcaș's School" program, the educational component of the project which included two regional masterclasses, in Prundu Bârgăului and Satu Mare, as well as mentoring activities.

In the evening, from 18:00, at the House of Culture in Prundu Bârgăului, a concert took place with the Iza Group, tarogato players such as Cristian Totpati, Ionel Sabo, Florin Sas, Dumitru Ciupa, Cristina Bugnar, Gabriela Bodașcă, Loredana Spumă and Oana Ilie, alongside the "Plaiurile Bârgăului" Folklore Ensemble. The event was presented by Grigore Sâmboan. Entrance to the concert was free.

The project was launched at the beginning of September in Cluj-Napoca and stems from the artistic heritage of maestro Dumitru Fărcaș. It aims to document at least 30 active tarogato players and digitize at least 60 audio recordings and 100 images from the maestro's archive. Field testimonies collected, recovered and digitized archive, masterclasses and mentorships will be integrated into a bilingual digital platform dedicated to the tarogato. The artistic component continues through the creation of the "Dialogues" album and through the project's second concert scheduled in Satu Mare.
