Plan B Foundation inaugurated on Friday, September 18, 2026, a new cultural space in the Bogdánffy House, located on Avram Iancu Street in Cluj-Napoca. The building, which has over 200 years of history and the status of a historical monument, has been restored and renovated according to a project signed by Attila Kim Architects.

The consolidation and restoration project, which lasted almost a decade, was financed by painter Adrian Ghenie, who purchased the building in 2016. After renovation, the early 19th-century building will host an art gallery, spaces dedicated to research, and a sculpture garden.

Plan B Foundation aims to promote the practice of artists who are not necessarily valued by the art market and to explore themes that require time and reflection, beyond commercial stakes. Co-founder and Executive Director Mihai Pop explained that the foundation also emerged from the need to maintain the connection between artists who worked together at Fabrica de Pensule, an independent contemporary art space that operated from 2009 in Cluj.

The opening exhibition, titled "Inauguration" and curated by art historian Mihnea Mircan, brings together 23 artists from Romania and abroad, whose works engage in dialogue with different areas and layers of the building.
