The municipality took several measures to limit the impact on traffic during the reconstruction period. A temporary bridge was built between Garibaldi Bridge and Napoca Bridge, and traffic was reorganized in adjacent areas. The commune opened Dragalina Street in both directions and intervened in the area of 14 July Square.

On Giuseppe Garibaldi Street, on the section between December 1, 1918 Boulevard and Gavril Muzicescu Street, only resident access is permitted. Independence Waterfront was restricted on lane 1, which ensures the right turn onto the bridge. Vehicle access on Gavril Muzicescu Street from Giuseppe Garibaldi was closed.

For drivers traveling between the Grigorescu neighborhood and the city center, several detour routes were established. On the Grigorescu – Center direction, traffic is diverted on the route: Giuseppe Garibaldi – December 1, 1918 Boulevard – temporary bridge – Independence Waterfront – George Coșbuc. For the opposite direction, the following variants are available: Independence Waterfront – Napoca Bridge – December 1, 1918 Boulevard, or Independence Waterfront – temporary bridge – December 1, 1918 Boulevard, or George Coșbuc – temporary bridge – December 1, 1918 Boulevard. For Mănăștur – Grigorescu, the detour route is Plopilor Street – Independence Waterfront – temporary bridge – December 1, 1918 Boulevard.

Mayor Emil Boc warned that the period of works will bring longer waiting times and traffic difficulties, but assured that the work will be closely monitored to ensure compliance with the established schedule.
