Residents of Mănăștur are requesting expansion of the "La Terenuri" sports facility with a sports hall
The petition launched by residents and the Sustainably Organized Society Association gathered 281 signatures by October 13, 2026.

Residents of Mănăștur, together with the Sustainably Organized Society Association, are asking Cluj-Napoca City Hall to take over the OH sports hall on Mărișel Street no. 17 and integrate it into the "La Terenuri" Sports Facility. The petition, which gathered 281 signatures by October 13, 2026, also calls for pedestrianization of the street between the two spaces, affected by auto traffic and dust from the unpaved road.
The initiators claim that the hall's owner expressed agreement for the transfer of the building to the municipality, but the procedure was not completed. They propose that the space accommodate basketball, volleyball, handball, futsal, table tennis, badminton, fitness, yoga and other activities, with free access for residents, as well as an office for the custodians of the Metropolitan Green Ring.
The City Hall attempted to purchase the OH Sport hall in 2024, when the estimated price was approximately 3.6 million euros, and the Local Council later approved a procurement procedure for up to 20 million lei. The transaction did not materialize due to incomplete documents submitted by the owner, and the building was put back on sale at a price of almost 4.9 million euros, according to information published in March 2026.
The new petition revives an earlier effort, which had gathered over 2,500 online signatures and another 500 on paper to bring the "La Terenuri" facility back into public ownership.
