The opening takes place on October 15 at the German Cultural Center Cluj-Napoca, and the exhibition can be visited until November 13.

Ten artists working in illustration, comics and animation are exhibiting in Cluj in the project "Alter Ego – Comics Club Cluj meets Max Ernst", which starts from the universe of German surrealist Max Ernst, born in 1891 in Brühl, near Cologne, from whose birth 135 years are being celebrated in 2026.
The opening takes place Thursday, October 15, at 6 p.m., at the German Cultural Center Cluj-Napoca, on Universității Street no. 7-9, and the exhibition can be visited until November 13. The public is also invited to a pop-up collage workshop, dedicated to exploring play and the role of chance in the artistic act.
The exhibition features works signed by Alexia Bacean, Alexandra Băeș, Andreea Radu, Anna Benczédi, Erika Kramarik, Ileana Surducan, Iris Golgoțiu, Maria Surducan, Miruna Șmit and Roma Gavrilă. The project is organized by the German Cultural Center Cluj-Napoca in partnership with Comics Club Cluj, with the support of Goethe-Institut and Babeș-Bolyai University.
The connection with Max Ernst continues through cinema: Saturday, October 17, at 3:30 p.m., the Arta cinema screens the film "Leonora in the Light of Morning", a 2025 co-production about surrealist artist Leonora Carrington and her relationship with Max Ernst, previously presented at TIFF.
