USAMV Cluj-Napoca will host the European equine internal medicine congress in 2026
Over 260 specialists from Europe and around the world will participate, between October 7-10, 2026, at the event held for the first time in Romania.

The University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine (USAMV) Cluj-Napoca will host, in the period October 7-10, 2026, the practical part of the Annual Congress of the European College of Equine Internal Medicine (ECEIM), the first edition of this event organized in Romania.
The congress is expected to have approximately 260 participants - veterinary specialists, researchers and residents from numerous countries. Under the theme "The forgotten horses", the program includes lectures and practical workshops in groups of 30 participants, on topics such as donkey medicine, artificial intelligence in equine medicine, parasitology and thoracic imaging.
On October 8, there is the Day of Specialists, dedicated to intensive care and sepsis, attended by approximately 60 certified veterinarians alongside four international lecturers. The event is coordinated by associate professor Dr. Alexandra Nicoleta Mureșan, the first veterinarian from Romania with the title of ECEIM diplomat, together with three other academic staff from USAMV Cluj-Napoca.
Organizers also pursued a sustainability component, reducing printed materials and providing participants with a dedicated application for the event.
