CFR Cluj concluded the summer transfer period with a profit of approximately 2.25 million euros, amid financial difficulties that led the club into insolvency proceedings. The Transylvanians sold six footballers and obtained a total of 2.5 million euros from these sales.

The most important move was that of midfielder Meriton Korenica, who was transferred to FCSB for 600,000 euros. Other sales transfers included Tidiane Keita to Ordabasy for 500,000 euros, defender Matei Ilie to Kasimpașa for 500,000 euros, Leo Bolgado to Petro for 350,000 euros, Aly Abeid to Kabylie for 300,000 euros and Marian Huja to Raja Casablanca for 250,000 euros.

After the departures of important players, coach Marius Șumudică requested reinforcements. On the last day of the transfer window, the club's management brought in ten footballers, mostly at reduced costs or on free transfers. The new players included goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders and forwards, with ages ranging from 19 to 33 years old.
