Cluj University hopes to bring Nicolae Stanciu (33 years old), captain of the national team, to Transylvania. Stanciu is currently under contract with Dalian Yingbo from China, and his agreement with the Chinese team expires at the end of the year. The midfielder would like to return closer to home.

The president of Cluj University, Radu Constantea, stated that although the transfer is not yet signed, the club has arguments to convince Stanciu. Constantea emphasized that the arguments are not primarily financial in nature. He mentioned that the club is trying to maximize available arguments and that the move would depend on Stanciu's decision to be closer to home, to Cluj-Napoca, to financial stability and to the club's development. Constantea noted that the relationship Stanciu has with Chipciu is an additional argument.

The club official clarified that Stanciu, if he comes to Transylvania, will not benefit from a huge salary. Constantea explained that the club's administration remains aware that it will need to make efforts, but intentionally does not want to exceed the budget set to maintain the institution's financial stability.
