The folk music tradition of the Sotelecan and Pusztai families on the stage of Cluj's Radio Hall
The concert "Hora from Father to Son" takes place today at 6 PM at Radio Hall in Cluj-Napoca, with free admission.

The show brings on stage representatives of the folk musician families Sotelecan and Pusztai, alongside the professional Orchestra "Cununa Transilvană", conducted by Tudor Căucean. The event is dedicated to the continuity of musical tradition and its transmission from generation to generation, according to the organizers.
One of the program's moments reconstructs the legacy of doine singer Ion Sotelecan, originally from Ciumăfaia, Borșa commune, known for his repertoire collected from the Cluj area and mountain villages. The tradition is carried forward by his son Sergiu Sotelecan and his grandson, violinist Ionuț Sotelecan.
The Pusztai family is represented by Pusztai Aladar and his son, Pusztai Renato Aladar, who continue the tradition of Gheorghe Gruți, also known as Gheorghe Pusztai, a folk musician born in Bonțida and former instrumentalist of the State Philharmonic's popular orchestra in Cluj. Pusztai Aladar has been a member of the "Cununa Transilvană" Orchestra since 1991.
The program also includes the "Gruți Suite", an initiative to bring back the attention of the public to the repertoire of great Cluj folk musicians, as well as performances by interpreter Mariana Morcan and the "Ormăneni Traditions" Group from Orman. The show is organized by the "Tradiții Clujene" Culture and Arts Center and presented by Alin Pop.
For Cluj residents who left the city, such a concert brings back on stage the folk music repertoire transmitted from family to family, connected to the villages and musicians of the Cluj area.
