The Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, Vasile Tofan, stated that the country is prepared for the next stage of negotiations for accession to the European Union, during a telephone conversation held on Monday with the Federal Chancellor of Austria, Christian Stocker.

Tofan thanked Austria for its continued support for the Republic of Moldova's European path and reaffirmed the commitment of the Chișinău government to continue the necessary reforms for the accession process.

The two officials also discussed the consolidation of bilateral economic relations, attracting Austrian investments and the results of the recent meeting of the Moldovan-Austrian Intergovernmental Commission in Vienna. The Prime Minister appreciated Austria's contribution to projects that bring direct benefits to citizens, including water infrastructure development and educational projects. The parties agreed to continue cooperation and exchange of expertise for strengthening Moldovan institutions involved in European integration.
